2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage S


The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S is characterized by a number of new features targeted to the driver, designed to boost the dynamics of a new Vantage benchmark. The S is arguably more powerful than the standard V8 model and has a gearbox and a sportier suspension.

As for the engine, It uses the 4.7-liter V8 engine which has been optimized to deliver 430HP and 490 Nm of torque, an increase of 10 hp and 20 Nm, respectively. The Vantage S also sports a new transmission box 7 Sportshift II, with a shorter gear ratio and shifting 20 percent quicker than the standard 6-speed box offered on the V8 Vantage. It can reach the top speed of 305 km / h.

The suspension received new springs and dampers, while front brakes are larger than the standard model. Outside, the V8 Vantage S has a new front bumper featuring a large air intake and a separator, side supports and a prominent rear bumper redesigned.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S weighs 1610 kg (coupe), 30 kg lighter than the standard Vantage, due to the weight optimization of the new transmission Sportshift ™ II and the use of carbon fiber. Air-cooled rather than oil cooling, Sportshift ™ II system takes advantage through the elimination of auxiliary oil pump and associated saving 24 kg over the conventional six-speed Sportshift ™.
