After the success of the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, Bugatti did not have to wait long to arrive in Strasbourg that the first requests for a version to 882 kW (1200 hp) of the current model Grand Sport. The dynamic figures. The strong 7.9-liter W16 engine's, the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Speed ​​develops maximum torque of 1500 Nm considerable (between 3000 and 5000 rev / min). This maximum speed is reached on a closed circulation, respecting the special security measures. In the manner of use "handling mode" the Grand Sport Speed ​​is electronically limited to 375 km / h.

Propulsion system optimized. The power gain of 199 hp compared to the Grand Sport is obtained primarily through the use of four larger turbochargers and new interchanges. Bugatti has also greatly strengthened all components of the driveline so that they are able to permanently transmit these titanic forces safely. The reports of the 7-speed DSG have been especially adapted to new operating conditions. As it did for the Super Sport, Bugatti has also changed the air guidance in the area of ​​the driveline. Through the use of larger turbochargers and cons of an overall lower-pressure, fuel consumption could even be slightly reduced despite the increase in power. The feeding system of the Super Sport, comprising a reservoir to 4 pumps, was taken.

For this exceptional power can express itself on the road safely and with control, engineers have had to readjust the running gear of the ultra powerful sports car. The main rate of deflection have been widely identified and stabilizer bars for the Super Sport was adopted. Shocks taken and adapted for race vehicles, with extremely short response time, have further improved vehicle control and improved balance.

In general, we can say that the Grand Sport Speed ​​is still sportier than the Grand Sport 1001 CV without being as demanding as a race car: it is extremely easy to drive. These two elements will also be available for the Grand Sport: when combined, they allow to drive in a relaxed way, without the roof, even at speeds near 200 km / h.
