2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class


Mercedes Benz has just released detailed pictures and information of the new, second generation of its small family car, the Class B, which will be officially presented to all media in the next Frankfurt Motor Show in just a couple of weeks . This new B-Class is the first in a litter of 4 small vehicles that the German mark could occur in the not too distant future.

The small vehicle architecture and opens new platform for small vehicles from Mercedes Benz, called MFA (Mercedes frontWheel Architecture) and in short its strengths are lower vehicle height (measurements are 4.34 m, 1.77 m and 1.54 m for the length, width and height respectively), more sporty performance and increased interior space, enough for 5 people. The interior can be chosen with four trim levels, called "Chrome," "Sports", "Exclusive" and "Night package." The customization options also include the possibility that the leather-covered dashboard go.

The console screen may be 5.8 or 7 inches. The shift lever is on the steering column, as in the E-Class . There are three settings: Economy, Sport and Manual. The Class B releases a gasoline engine, a diesel, manual gearbox (six-speed) and a dual-clutch automatic ("7G-DTC"). The gasoline engine has 1.6 liters and given two levels of power, 122 hp (version B 180) and 156 (B 200). The 1.8 liter diesel is also available in two power levels, 109 hp (B 180 CDI) and 136 hp (B 200 CDI).
