2012 Toyota Camry Daytona 500 Pace Car


While Toyota competes in the U.S. with brands such as Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge, among others, NASCAR racing has always been exclusive site for American brands, at least in Daytona. In the 50 years of existence of these races, the Daytona 500 has had only imported car pace car: the Porsche 914, 1971.

The 2012 Camry debuts a bold, new and sophisticated with a more spacious interior, improved driving dynamics and a quieter journey before. The new model features class-leading safety, fuel economy and multi-media technology.

Since the first edition of the event in 1959, it will be the first Japanese model to take on this role of regulator, and the second non-US model after a Porsche 914 in 1971. The time course for Toyota to put the spotlight on its new Camry sold in the United States, large front-wheel drive road that can accommodate a 4-cyl 2.5 of 178 hp, a hybrid version of 2.5, or 3.5 of a V6 268 hp.
